Dr. Ali Saif Al-Mamari is Senior Consultant and Head of the Endocrine Unit at Sultan Qaboos University Hospital, Muscat, Oman. A graduate of Cairo University, he completed postgraduate training in Medicine, Diabetes, and Endocrinology in Glasgow, UK, earning an MD and FRCP. He is the former President of the Gulf Association of Endocrinology & Diabetes and served on the Board of Directors of AACE-Gulf Chapter (2018–2020). At Sultan Qaboos University, he held leadership roles including Deputy Head (2008–2021), Acting Head (2012–2014), and Head of Medicine (2014–2020). Dr. Al-Mamari has contributed to more than 32 publications and delivered numerous lectures and seminars locally and internationally. He is also a recognized trainer for undergraduate and postgraduate students at Sultan Qaboos University and the Oman Medical Specialty Board, with active involvement in advancing education and clinical practice in General Medicine, Diabetes, and Endocrinology.
Dr. Ali Hilal Al-Maqbali is a Senior Consultant Endocrinologist and Deputy Director of the National Diabetes and Endocrine Center in Muscat, Oman. He earned his medical degree from Sultan Qaboos University in 2005, completed the Oman Medical Specialty Board internal medicine program in 2011, and pursued fellowship training in Endocrinology and Diabetes at King Faisal Specialist Hospital, Saudi Arabia (2012–2014). Since 2014, he has been serving at the National Diabetes and Endocrine Center, where he also directed the first local Adult Diabetes Fellowship program and heads allied medical professionals. Dr. Al-Maqbali is actively engaged in research, teaching, and training of medical students and residents, with contributions to national guidelines, multiple publications, and frequent participation as a lecturer in regional and international conferences. His work has significantly advanced diabetes and endocrine care in Oman.
Dr. Sadiq J. Al Lawati is a Consultant Endocrinologist at Rustaq Hospital and Medical Students Coordinator at the National University, Rustaq Campus. He earned his medical degree from Sultan Qaboos University in 2011 and completed his Internal Medicine residency (2016–2019) and Endocrinology fellowship (2019–2021) at the University of British Columbia, Canada. He is board-certified in Internal Medicine by the American Board of Internal Medicine and in both Internal Medicine and Endocrinology by the Royal College of Physicians and Surgeons of Canada, where he is also a Fellow. Dr. Al Lawati previously served as acting consultant at Khawla and Al Nahdha Hospitals and has research contributions in pituitary and adrenal disorders, primary hyperaldosteronism, and metabolic bone disease. He is an active member of several international endocrine societies and is committed to advancing medical education and delivering patient-centered endocrine care.
Dr. Saif Al Yaarubi is Associate Professor of Pediatrics and Senior Consultant Pediatric Endocrinologist at Sultan Qaboos University Medical City, Muscat. He also serves as Assistant Executive President for International Cooperation at the Oman Medical Specialty Board, overseeing the training of more than 200 Omani residents and fellows abroad through partnerships with leading international institutions. A distinguished graduate of Sultan Qaboos University, he earned his Bachelor of Health Science (1989–1993) and ranked first in his MD (1993–1996). He later completed Pediatrics Board certification (FRCPC, 2003) and a Pediatric Endocrinology Fellowship (FRCPC, 2004) at McGill University under the Royal College of Physicians and Surgeons of Canada. Since 2008, he has been practicing as a pediatric endocrinologist and was promoted to Associate Professor in 2018. Dr. Al Yaarubi has authored over 60 peer-reviewed articles, contributed to textbooks, and held leadership roles including President of the Oman Pediatric Society and Vice President of the Oman Diabetes Association.
Dr. Abdullah Mohammed Al-Futaisi is University Advisor and Senior Consultant in Endocrinology at Sultan Qaboos University. A graduate of Sultan Qaboos University (B.Sc. Health Science and MD, 1993), he pursued postgraduate training at McGill University, Canada, completing fellowships in Internal Medicine, Endocrinology and Metabolism (1999–2001), and Diabetes and Reproductive Endocrinology (2001–2002). He holds multiple prestigious certifications, including the American Board of Internal Medicine (2000), American Board of Endocrinology and Metabolism (2002), Canadian Royal College certifications in Internal Medicine (2000) and Endocrinology (2001), and McGill University Certificate in Reproductive Endocrinology (2003). He was elected Fellow of the Royal College of Physicians of London (2011) and Glasgow (2012). Dr. Al-Futaisi has been actively engaged in undergraduate and postgraduate teaching at Sultan Qaboos University’s College of Medicine and Health Sciences, and his academic contributions include 12 peer-reviewed publications. He is recognized for his expertise in endocrinology, education, and academic leadership.
Dr. Muna Omar Majid Al-Hakmani is a Consultant Adult Endocrinologist and Diabetologist at the National Diabetes & Endocrine Centre, Royal Hospital, Muscat, Oman. She earned her MD from Sultan Qaboos University and completed her residency in internal medicine through the Oman Medical Specialty Board, followed by the Arab Board of Internal Medicine. Dr. Al-Hakmani pursued advanced fellowship training in Endocrinology and Metabolism at King Saud University and the Saudi Commission for Health Specialties, with rotations at King Khalid University Hospital, King Faisal Specialist Hospital, and Prince Sultan Military Hospital in Riyadh. Since 2015, she has been leading specialized clinics in thyroid disorders, pituitary disease, obesity, diabetes, and endocrine cancers. She is actively engaged in clinical research, medical education, and multidisciplinary endocrine care, with presentations at regional and international conferences. Dr. Al-Hakmani is widely recognized for her expertise in endocrine disorders and her dedication to advancing diabetes and endocrine services in Oman.
Dr. Ali Al Resi is a Senior Consultant in Endocrinology and Diabetes with extensive clinical and academic expertise in the management of complex endocrine disorders. He also leads the hospital's Endocrinology and Diabetes Unit at Sohar hospital and serves as a Senior Clinical Lecturer at the National University of Science and Technology. Dr. Al Reesi is a Fellow of the American College of Physicians and the American College of Endocrinology, with specialty certification from the UK in Endocrinology and Diabetes. A recognized regional leader, he is a Board Member of the Gulf Association of Endocrinology and Diabetes and a certified trainer in leadership and management. He has spearheaded innovative diabetes care models-especially during Ramadan-and has authored numerous scientific publications. Dr. Al Reesi is frequently invited to speak at local and international conferences on endocrine disorders, digital health, and physician leadership.
Professor Khalid Al-Rasadi is a leading Omani physician-scientist specializing in medical biochemistry and lipidology. He earned his medical degree in 1998 and completed postgraduate training at McGill University, Canada (2002–2006), where he worked at the Royal Victoria Hospital with Prof. Jacques Genest on the molecular genetics of familial hypercholesterolemia and related disorders. In 2008, he received certification in Clinical Lipidology from the U.S. National Lipid Association.. Currently, he is Professor of Biochemistry at the College of Medicine & Health Sciences, Sultan Qaboos University, and serves as President of the Oman Society for Lipid and Atherosclerosis (OSLA) and Director of the Oman Genome Program. He has led pioneering regional studies, including the Gulf Familial Hypercholesterolemia and Oman FH Cascade Screening studies. With over 177 publications, an h-index of 40, and more than 6,000 citations, Prof. Al-Rasadi is internationally recognized as an authority in lipid disorders and cardiovascular prevention.
Dr. Najat Rashid Al Harthi is a consultant physician at the National Diabetes and Endocrine Center, Royal Hospital, Oman. She earned her Bachelor of Science and Doctor of Medicine degrees from Sultan Qaboos University, followed by completion of the Oman Medical Specialty Board training in Internal Medicine, the Arab Board certification, and the MRCP (UK). Dr. Al Harthi advanced her expertise through clinical fellowships, including training in endocrinology at Canberra Hospital, Australia, and intensive care experience at the Royal Hospital, Muscat. She has broad clinical experience in managing diabetes, thyroid disorders, endocrine oncology, and complex metabolic diseases, and she runs specialized clinics in these fields. In addition to her clinical work, Dr. Al Harthi is actively engaged in teaching and mentoring medical students and residents, contributing to research on endocrine disorders, and participating in national and international medical conferences.
Dr. Bushra Al-Jabri Consultant Pediatric Endocrinologist at Muscat Private Hospital and Assistant Professor at National University, College of Medicine and Health Sciences She graduated from SQU, got pediatric residency from OMSB and Arab Board then completed her Endocrine Fellowship at Kingdom of Saudia Arabia (SCFHS) with an Honor’s degree. She is having an over 16 years of experience in Pediatric endocrinology and diabetes. In addition to her academic expertise, she held multiple administrative positions at Ministry of health the last was Head of Steering Committee of Patient Safety Friendly Hospital Initiatives at Ar Rustaq Hospital. Dr Bushra is an active member in many local and international associations and societies. Further, she had been speaker and moderatorin various conferences and scientific events.
Dr. Hanan Said Al Azkawi is a Consultant in Pediatric Endocrinology at the National Diabetes and Endocrine Center, Royal Hospital, Oman. She earned her MD and BSc from Sultan Qaboos University (2000), followed by postgraduate training in pediatrics and pediatric endocrinology, including a fellowship at the National Guard Hospital in Saudi Arabia. She is a Member of the Royal College of Paediatrics and Child Health (MRCPCH) and holds the Saudi Board certification in Pediatric Endocrinology. Dr. Al Azkawi leads specialized clinics in pediatric diabetes, bone and mineral health, growth disorders, obesity, and rare endocrine conditions. She has introduced novel therapies for rare disorders in Oman and is actively involved in national guideline development, including the Obesity National Clinical Management Guideline. An active researcher with numerous publications, she also contributes to education and training, supervises OMSB residents, and regularly participates in regional and international conferences.
Dr. Hala A.J. Al-Shaikh is a Senior Consultant in Pediatric Endocrinology at Muscat Private Hospital, Oman. She graduated with distinction in Medicine (MBBS, 1990) from Arabian Gulf University, Bahrain, and went on to earn a Diploma in Child Health (Glasgow, 1995), MRCP in Paediatrics (Glasgow, 1996), and a Fellowship in Pediatric Endocrinology at Great Ormond Street Hospital, London (1999). She was awarded FRCP (London) in 2003 and later completed an MBA from the University of Hull (2014). Dr. Al-Shaikh previously served as Head of Pediatric Endocrinology at the Royal Hospital, Muscat, and has played key leadership roles in the Oman Diabetes Association, OMSB, and regional endocrine societies. She has published widely on pediatric endocrine disorders, diabetes, and genetic conditions, and continues to contribute to international research collaborations. With over two decades of expertise, Dr. Al-Shaikh is recognized for advancing pediatric endocrine care, education, and research in Oman and beyond.
Dr. Hussain Alsaffar is a Paediatric Endocrinologist Consultant at Sultan Qaboos University Hospital, and deputy head of the quality improvement committee. He is a trainer/educational supervisor at the Omani Medical Specialties Board (OMSB). Dr Alsaffar is a communication committee member, a YES group leader and a program organising committee member at the European Society of Paediatric Endocrinology (ESPE), and head of the research committee at the Omani Diabetes Association (ODA), and a team member of the National Diabetes Program – MENA Office at the International Diabetes Federation (IDF). Dr Alsaffar is a known international speaker; he has more than 50 publications in peer reviewed journals. He is a member of the editorial board for the Journal of Clinical Research in Paediatric Endocrinology (JCRPE), Al- Mustansiriyah Medical Journal (MMJ), and Ibnosina journal of Medicine and Biomedical Sciences (IJMBS).
Dr. Ahmed Sadiq Jaffer Al Sajwani is a Consultant in Internal Medicine, Diabetes, and Endocrinology at Al Nahdha Hospital, Muscat. Since 2017, he has led inpatient rounds, overseen diabetes and endocrinology clinics, and served as Deputy Head of the Internal Medicine Board. He trained in clinical endocrinology and diabetes through a fellowship at Galway University Hospital and Tallaght Hospital in Ireland, gaining expertise in complex endocrine disorders, dynamic testing, and advanced diabetes management. Dr. Al Sajwani is a member of the Royal College of Physicians of Ireland (MRCP, FRCPI) and the Oman Medical Specialty Board. His clinical and research contributions span pituitary disorders, thyroid disease, adrenal pathology, and obesity medicine. Actively involved in teaching, he has examined for MRCP (Ireland) and supervised residents and medical students. Dr. Ihsan Al Lawati is a consultant endocrinologist and Chairman of the Medical Board at Al Nahdha Hospital. He obtained his MD and Bachelor of Basic Health Sciences from Sultan Qaboos University in 2009, followed by board certifications in Internal Medicine from both the Oman Medical Specialty Board and the Arab Board in 2016. In 2019, he completed his Fellowship in Endocrinology and Diabetes from the Royal College of Physicians of Ireland. Dr. Ihsan serves as Head of Internal Medicine Training and Education at his hospital and is a member of the Exam Committee for the Oman Exam for General Practice (OEGP). His clinical interests include thyroid disorders, diabetes, and the medical management of obesity. He has led numerous national workshops and training sessions focused on thyroid care for primary care physicians. Dr. Maryam AL-Badi is a Consultant Pediatric Endocrinologist at the National Diabetes and Endocrine Center, Royal Hospital, Muscat, Oman. She is actively involved in clinical care, medical education, and national health initiatives. Dr. Albadi supervises pediatric residents, teaches medical students, and contributes to national policies on diabetes technology. She is a board member of the Oman Diabetes Association and regularly presents at national and international conferences. She has also authored and co-authored several clinical case reports and research publications in pediatric endocrinology.
Dr. Elham Atiq is a Consultant in Pediatric Endocrinology and Diabetes at Sultan Qaboos Hospital, Oman. She completed her pediatric residency with the Oman Medical Specialty Board and advanced fellowship training in Pediatric Endocrinology and Diabetes at Alder Hey Children’s NHS Foundation Trust, Liverpool, and Great Ormond Street Hospital, London. Dr. Al Harthi is an active member of The Endocrine Society and the Oman Diabetes Association, a respected OMSB trainer, and a lecturer at Sultan Qaboos University. Dr. Maimoona Juma Al Qanoobi is a Pediatric Endocrinologist at Al Nahdha Hospital, Muscat, where she provides specialized care for children with diabetes, growth disorders, thyroid disease, metabolic bone conditions, and rare endocrine disorders. She completed her pediatric endocrinology fellowship with the Royal College of Physicians of Ireland, training at Temple Street and Our Lady’s Children’s Hospitals in Dublin, gaining extensive experience in advanced diabetes technologies and complex endocrine care. Dr. Al Qanoobi previously trained through the Oman Medical Specialty Board’s pediatric residency program and has over 16 years of clinical experience. Dr. Mouza Said Al Yahyaei is a Consultant Pediatric Endocrinologist at the National Diabetes and Endocrine Center, Royal Hospital, Oman. She completed her fellowship in pediatric endocrinology at King Abdulaziz Medical City, Riyadh, with additional training at Great Ormond Street Hospital, London. With over 20 years of clinical experience, she manages a wide spectrum of pediatric endocrine and diabetes disorders, including growth, thyroid, adrenal, and metabolic bone diseases. Dr. Al Yahyaei established Oman’s first adolescent transition clinic and played a pivotal role in developing and updating national pediatric diabetes and endocrine protocols. She has organized major international conferences, including the 1st International Pediatric Endocrine and Diabetes Conference in Oman (2016) and the ASPED Conference (2018). An active researcher, her publications cover congenital hyperinsulinism, Wolfram syndrome, and genetic endocrine disorders. Dr. Azza Nasser Al Shidhani is a Senior Consultant Pediatric Endocrinologist at Sultan Qaboos University Hospital (SQUH), Oman, and Head of the Pediatric Endocrinology and Diabetes Unit since 2018. She is widely recognized for her leadership in advancing clinical care, research, education, and community health. At SQUH, she has spearheaded initiatives including transitioning dynamic endocrine testing to day care, launching annual diabetes awareness campaigns, and establishing multidisciplinary care teams. Her expertise covers diabetes, growth and thyroid disorders, and rare genetic endocrine diseases. Dr. Al Shidhani has published extensively on thyroid hormone resistance, diabetes in Omani children, and rare endocrine disorders, while contributing to national guidelines such as the congenital hypothyroidism screening program and diabetic ketoacidosis protocols. Dr. Zainab is an Acting Consultant Endocrinologist at the National Diabetes and Endocrine Center, Royal Hospital. She completed three years of comprehensive fellowship training in Endocrinology and Diabetes in Ireland and holds master’s degrees in Leadership and Innovation in Healthcare from the Royal College of Surgeons in Ireland and in Clinical Endocrinology from Queen Mary University of London. Her main clinical and research interest is reproductive endocrinology, with a focus on gonadal disorders and fertility-related endocrine conditions. Dr. Al Bulushi is actively involved in research, and quality improvement, with multiple international conference presentations and recognition through academic and innovation awards.
Dr. Laila Salim Omar Al Hashmi is a Consultant Pediatric Endocrinologist at Nizwa Hospital with over a decade of experience in pediatric endocrinology, diabetes, and general pediatrics. She completed her fellowship in Pediatric Endocrinology, Diabetes, and Metabolic Bone Disorders at the Royal Manchester Children’s Hospital, UK (2017–2019). Since 2019, Dr. Al Hashmi has been instrumental in establishing and advancing pediatric endocrine services at Nizwa Hospital, introducing dynamic endocrine testing, expanding access to specialized therapies, and enhancing multidisciplinary care. She is particularly passionate about pediatric diabetes, leading initiatives such as school nurse workshops, public awareness programs, and the integration of advanced technologies including diabetes sensors and insulin pumps. An active contributor to research and education, Dr. Al Hashmi has presented at international conferences, published in peer-reviewed journals, and played a key role in national pediatric obesity and diabetes registries. Dr. Aisha Al Senani is a senior consultant pediatric endocrinologist and head of pediatric endocrinology in NDEC and Royal hospital. Member of several professional societies, both national and international, such as The Oman diabetes Society, Arab Society for Pediatric Endocrinology and Diabetes(ASPED). Has international links to International Society for Pediatric and Adolescent Diabetes (ISPAD) and the European Society of Pediatric Endocrinology (ESPE). Invited speaker at regional meetings of professional specialty societies, international meetings and symposia. Serves as invited reviewer in national peer-reviewed journals. Published papers in international and local periodicals and journals and supervised few researches pediatric residents. Prepared and Supervised and helped in the writing of & Protocols of management of DKA in Type 1 Diabetes, Management of diabetes in children and youth , acute endocrine emergencies and common chronic endocrine diseases . Dr. Sulaiman Zahar Al Shereiqi is a Senior Public Health Specialist and Head of Training and Career Development at the National Diabetes & Endocrine Center (NDEC), Ministry of Health, Oman. He earned his MD from Sultan Qaboos University (2000) and a dual Master’s in Public Health and Health Administration from the University of New South Wales, Australia (2005). Since 2013, Dr. Al Shereiqi has led national capacity-building programs, including Oman’s first six-month diabetes training for family physicians and advanced diabetes education courses for nurses. He has also contributed to obesity management services, strategic five-year action plans, and national NCD initiatives aligned with Oman Vision 2040. Actively engaged in research, he contributed to publications on diabetes, thyroid disorders, and cardiovascular health, while fostering international collaborations with Harvard Medical School, WHO, IDF, and the World Obesity Federation. As General Secretary of the Oman Diabetes Association, he continues to champion public health, education, and policy reform.
Dr. Amira Nasser Al Kharusi is a Consultant in Obesity Medicine and Medical Biochemistry at the National Diabetes & Endocrine Centre, Royal Hospital, Muscat. She earned her MD from Sultan Qaboos University and pursued advanced training in Internal Medicine and Medical Biochemistry at McGill University, Canada, followed by a Fellowship in Bariatric Medicine at the University of Ottawa. She is a Diplomate of the American Board of Obesity Medicine (ABOM) and a Fellow of the Royal College of Physicians of Canada (FRCPC). Dr. Al Kharusi leads the Adult Obesity Sub-Unit, providing specialized care through outpatient clinics and inpatient consultations. She also serves on the board of the Oman Diabetes Association and is faculty for the Duke Online Clinical Nutrition Fellowship, in collaboration with the Morpheus Consortium. A strong advocate for evidence-based and multidisciplinary care, Dr. Al Kharusi is recognized for advancing obesity management and improving patient outcomes in Oman.
